THE ROYAL SCOTTISH ACADEMY OPEN EXHIBITION EDINBURGH 2017 AND SIMON BURNS-COX

Simon Burns-Cox is pleased to announce that his Marble Sculpture ‘Room with a View’ has been selected for the The Royal Scottish Academy Open Exhibition Edinburgh 2017 and will be on display from the 22nd July to the 1st October 2017. It is for sale at £850.

The Exhibition is showcasing a unique selection of collectable artworks by artists from Scotland and beyond. The Royal Scottish Academy has a long history of celebrating the best of contemporary practice. After having been part of the RSA Annual Exhibition for over 180 years, it now enjoys its own slot in the RSA Calendar. This exhibition showcases around 400 work annually. It features a wide range of small and medium sized works selected through open submission including paintings, drawings, sculptures, prints and photography. This year, the RSA Open Exhibition will be back in the entire RSA Lower galleries and will be on throughout the world famous Edinburgh Festival. ROOM WITH A VIEW BY SIMON BURNS-COX

The Marble Sculpture ‘Room with a View’ by Simon Burns-Cox illustrates the natural world beyond looking through the window in Italy. It is made from different marbles and has been carved and highly polished by hand. It is a painstaking process. This is illustrated in the video below which shows the creation of this sculpture in progress.
