Garden Wall Plaque

This is a Garden Wall Plaque which I made recently for a 30th Wedding Anniversary gift. It is made from Portland Stone with dimensions of 23 x 23 x 4cms and includes the date of the marriage and a flower relief. Garden Wall Plaques are a good way of celebrating an anniversary or special event.

COMMISSIONING A GARDEN WALL PLAQUE

I create contemporary hand carved exterior garden sculptures, garden wall plaques and bas reliefs for all types of garden and outside space. I work mainly in stone and marble and all the work is done by hand. The work is bespoke and created specifically for an individual garden.

There is an initial consultation with the client and an on-site visit to discuss installation if required depending on location. I will discuss with you the ideas for the design, the choice of materials to be used, the size of the garden sculpture or plaque and its overall finish, the timescale and the costs involved. You will be kept fully informed throughout the whole process.

THE USE OF GARDEN WALL PLAQUES IN GARDENS

Sculpture is often used as a focal point in a garden but it can be equally used to lead you to other parts of the hidden garden along paths or areas tucked under trees or walls.

An exterior garden sculpture or garden wall plaque is like a piece of art in a gallery with the surroundings acting as a backdrop to the work. You need to consider the size, shape, colour and texture of the work. Stone or Marble are particularly good for sculpture or reliefs in a garden as the materials are durable and blend in well with nature.

Before placing the sculpture or wall plaque in a garden,  you will need to think about the light, space and the surrounding landscape. Water and lighting also interact well with sculpture creating an illusion and a more complex and enchanting environment.

If you would like to commission an exterior garden sculpture or garden wall plaque for your garden, please contact me through my website and I will be happy to discuss your requirements further with you.
